City Park Criterium Report

Beth Fisk continued her winning ways at the women's pro-1-2 City Park Criterium on Sunday, June 3.  Following a hot first lap set up by an attack from Vitamin Cottage teammate Renee Eastman, Beth Fisk, not wanting to wait around, attacked on lap number two.  Fisk teamed up in the day's breakaway with Carol Hutton (Excel Sports).  The field never made contact with those two again and on the last lap, Fisk attacked to solo in for the win.

In the men's race, Dirk Friel and Colby Pearce (USA Cycling) made an early front-end exit.  The two worked together and eventually lapped the field.  With five laps to go, the VC boys lined up on the front to set up the win, but it was Pearce taking it on the line.  Other notable results included Jon Tarkington and Peter Horn, 4th and 10th respectively.

With still a long way to go in the season, the Vitamin Cottage men's and women's pro-1-2 teams sit on a sizeable lead in Colorado's Best All Around Team competition.  In other news, Jon Tarkington and Jon Baker endured 30 to 50 mph winds and finished first and second in the midweek Boulder Time Trial series sponsored by Excel Sports.
