Our Master's track team enjoyed home court advantage this past week at the Master's National Track Championships that were held in Colorado Springs, CO August 8-13th. During the week each of the team members posted impressive results and personal bests as they challenged the nation's best masters riders.
Brent Hanlin started the week some some great results with a 2nd place in the kilometer time trial and following that with another silver medal in the points race for the men age 35-39. Jeff Paul also had a personal best in the kilometer time trial to finish 4th for men age 45-49. He followed that with 9th place finishes in both the points race and pursuit for his age group.
Renee Eastman of the Elite Women's Team took a break from the road to claim a national championship on the track. She started off with a silver medal ride in the pursuit for age women 35-39 and finished it by winning gold in the points race. This is Renee's 4th Master's National Championship title having previously won the road race, pursuit, and points race in her age group.

Unfortunately the weekend ended on unpleasant note as Jeff Paul crashed in the weekend's last race, the madison. Jeff broke his arm and injured his hip in the fall. Brent Hanlin and his Excel Sports teammate George Hertner finished 5th in the rain shortened event.
