August 8 - The Vitamin Cottage men's and women's elite teams took part in the Federal Center Circuit Race and Bannock Criterium this past weekend. All in all the teams came out of the weekend with a victory, two second place finishes and a total of nine top ten results. The highlight of the weekend came with Beth Fisk's victory in the women's pro-1-2 Bannock Criterium on Sunday. Renee Eastman took tenth in the same race. Saturday's Federal Center Circuit race saw Eastman, Anne Lannan, and Beth Fisk finish second, third, and fourth.
In the men's pro-1-2 races, Jon Baker narrowly missed the win finishing second at Saturday's Federal Center race. Joe Pinkerton took tenth on the day. Sunday's Bannock race saw a stacked field throw in everything but the kitchen sink in the first 40 minutes of the race. Vitamin Cottage always had representation in the early breakaways. Finally, it was VC's Christian McCarthy getting away with Greg Henderson (Healthnet Maxxis), Brad Huff (TIA-CREFF) and Alex Howes (5280 Magazine). McCarthy made a solo bid for the victory but was reeled in on the final lap and eventually finished third behind Henderson and Alex Howes. Alan McCormack came in 8th.
