Jon Baker finished first overall in the Salida Omnium held from July 28-30. Baker won the extremely challenging Road Race stage, which featured a breathtaking 9,000 ft of climbing. Jon surrounded his road race win with an 8th place finish in the time trial and 5th in the criterium, which was won by Vitamin Cottage teammate Christian McCarthy. With McCarthy's criterium victory, the VC men took two of the three stages and the overall Omnium...not bad for a weekend's work.
In the women's race, VC rider Beth Fisk took the overall omnium victory by finishing 2nd in the time trial, 4th in the road race, and 1st in the criterium. Renee Eastman was 5th overall.
