Ft Morgan Wins, Cascade, Nat's Medals and more...

  • Fort Morgan Victories, July 15 – Christian McCarthy finished off a strong team performance to take the pro-1-2 win at the 22nd edition of the Festival in the Park Criterium located in Fort Morgan, CO.  Following a flurry of attacks that always had a Vitamin Cottage rider, McCarthy and teammate Alan McCormack broke away from the field.  After an unsuccessful attempt to drop his breakaway companions on the start of the last lap, McCarthy came around Will Frischkorn (TIAA-CREF) at the line for the victory.

McCormack took 4th on the day.  In the women’s pro-1-2 race, Vitamin Cottage Riders Beth Fisk and Sharon Allpress rode off the front most of the race, trading attacks and pulls with Catherine Powers (Aaron's Women's Professional Cycling Team).  Allpress out sprinted Powers for the win.  Beth Fisk came in shortly behind the front two for second with the only remaining Vitamin Cottage rider, Anne Lannan, winning the field sprint for fourth.
