Wayne Watson posted a time of 52:17 on the 38K state time trial course on Saturday June 10th to handly beat Randy Gaffney by 44 seconds to become the 2006 State time trial champion in the Masters 55+ category. Wayne has been using the Cherry Creek time trial series and the state time trial as part of his preparation for the Masters national championships which will take place in mid July. Watson won the 55+ Cherry Creek time trial series winning 5 of 7 of the races in the series.
In the Masters 45+ category Mike Brewer medaled placing 3rd with a time of 53:04. Brewer's time on the windy day was excellent as he beat many of the time trial specialist and “known suspects“ in the deep Masters 45+ category.
