The Vitamin Cottage Cycling Team brough home 9 state champiohsips over the weekend at the 7-11 Olympic Velodrome in Colorado Springs Colorado. While riding without Vic Williams, who is recovering from a training accident suffered last week, the team brought home the State Team Pursuit Championship after a one year hiatus. Brent Hanlin, racing in the 35-39 year old division, won State Championships in the 1 Kilometer Time Trial, Points and Sprints races. Bruce Hitchcock delivered the 1 Kilometer Time Trial championship in the 40-44 year old division. Elder statesman, Jeff Paul, won State Championships in the 45-49 year old division 1 Kilometer Time Trial, 5 Mile Scratch, Points and Keirin Races.
The Sunday program was rained out which lead to the Pursuit, Team Sprint and Madison events not being competed.
The team continues it's tune up this week leading up to the Master National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Major Taylor Velodrome 23-27 August. http://www.usacycling.org/events/2005/masters_track/
