VITAMIN COTTAGE MASTERS WIN 2 OF 3 STAGES IN ROCKY MOUNTAIN OMNIUM, FINISH APRIL AND MAY WITH 6 WINS

The Vitamin Cottage Men’s 45+ Masters Team won the second and third stages of the three stage Rocky Mountain Omnium held in Golden, Colorado over the Memorial Day weekend.  Bill Herwig won the Table Mountain Circuit race on Sunday and Dean Mason held off a charging field to win the Memorial Day Olde Towne Golden Criterium.  Both wins were the result of great team work throughout the course of each race. In the final general classification for the race Herwig claimed third place overall with Bob Pinkerton placing fourth.

Earlier on the race calendar, the Vitamin Cottage Men’s 45+ Masters Team dominated the Lookout Mountain Hill Climb held in Golden, Colorado on April 30th.  It was a bone chilling day with periods of rain and a flake or two of snow.  Mike Brewer went to the front of the pack on the lower slopes to separate the men from the boys.  When the Subway Boulder Masters Team sent their climber up the road, our Wayne Watson took control of the race, blasted past the competition and soloed up the rest of the climb for the win with Brewer coming in 4th place.  In addition to dominating the Lookout Mountain Hill Climb, Wayne and Mike had previous wins at the Cherry Creek Time Trial series.

Our Masters Team is off to a great start to the 2005 road racing season with 18 podium finishes.  Stay tuned for future updates on the old guys delivering results.
